Visa: Electronic payments stimulate economic growth

visa_01According to a study by Moody’s Analytics for Visa, growth in the use of payments with bank cards in 56 countries between 2008 and 2012 has added $ 983 billion to GDP.
Thus, research in 56 countries, which represent 93% of world GDP, showed that the use of payment cards makes the economy more efficient. At the same time, the increased use of bank cards contributed additional GDP growth by an average of 0.17% per year over 5 years. During the same period, the GDP of these countries increased by an average of 1.8%.
