Visa and MasterCard are launching a joint group to expedite the adoption of EMV in the U.S.

Leading payment systems and competitors Visa and MasterCard have joined forces to create an interbranch group, which will enhance the security of payments, starting with the introduction of EMV technology in the United States. Companies noted the group will include banks of all sizes, credit unions, acquirers, retailers, manufacturers of POS-terminals and industry trade groups.
