Half of smartphone owners in USA use mobile banking

virtual_money_real_moneyAbout half of the U.S. smartphone owners used their devices to access financial accounts last year, according to research by the Federal Reserve. The survey polled 2,600 people. Among them, 48% owning smartphones, said they used mobile banking in the last 12 months. For comparison, in December 2011, the comparable figure was 42%. At the same time, the use of mobile phones for making payments at point of sale has increased three-fold compared to the same period last year.
