Bank SocGen begins national commercial deployment of mobile NFC payments

After several years of testing and pilot projects, the French bank Societe Generale (SocGen) is preparing to launch the first national commercial application of mobile payment NFC-technology.
Strasbourg and Caen became the testing base of the first wave of pilots in 2007 under the auspices of the Association Francaise pour le Sans Contact Mobile (AFSCM). In 2010 AFSCM focused on Nice, which was the first city in the country of contactless mobile payments, ready to implement the pilot project technology Cityzi.
