The volume of mobile payments in China increased by 707% in 2013

The total volume of mobile payment transactions in China grew by 707%, reaching USD 201,2 billion in 2013. The major growth factors were payments on credit cards, online transfers and mobile payment applications. Mobile purchases are no longer the main driver of growth. In 2013, 93.1% of the payments were made through mobile payment applications or alternative services.
