The volume of contactless payments in Europe has grown six times in 12 months — Visa

European consumers have carried out 211 million contactless purchases in the last 12 months (from August 2012 to July 2013), according to data released by Visa Europe. The monthly cost of contactless payments also rose six-fold to 285 million euros in July 2013, as users increasingly feel the ease of use of contactless payments technology.
