Hungary is preparing to launch a national mobile payment system to pay for the transport costs across the country with the help of mobile phones in the autumn of 2013. According to the source, the state company Nemzeti Mobilfizetesi was specially created for the development and implementation of the system. Companies that currently offer mobile payment services, will act as intermediaries in the new state system. Hungarian mobile payment system will be first to pay for parking and highway in September 2013. After that the system will be expanded to pay for train tickets and public transport from 2014 to 2017.
