Germany declared Bitcoin as form of money at the legislative level

Germany became the first country to recognize the digital currency Bitcoin as a separate form of money at the legislative level. Finance Minister of the country announced Bitcoin as «monetary unit» and a form of «private money».
The new status of the digital currency in Germany means that the government can tax the profits made by companies that use Bitcoin transactions. At the same time, individuals can use virtual money without taxes.
