CVC Capital acquires Skrill for EUR600 mln

Private equity firm CVC Capital Partners signed a deal to buy a controlling stake in a British online payments provider Skrill Group, formerly owned by Investcorp. The cost of the transaction amounted to 600 million euros. Located in Bahrain, Investcorp company will retain a minority in the Skrill and will participate at the conclusion of important deals.
Founded in 2001, Skrill is one of Europe’s largest payment systems and one of the world’s largest providers of digital wallets, serving nearly 36 million account holders.
