By 2018, the number of contactless mobile payments will be 10 billion per year — Juniper Research

The new study by Juniper Research reported that the number of contactless transactions through mobile devices will exceed 9.9 billion by 2018. For comparison, last year this number was 3 billion.
The report notes that two key factors – HCE technology (Host Card Emulation) and the expected launch of Apple’s iWallet – will stimulate the growth of contactless payments in the medium term.
